Weekly farm fun with nearby elderly residents, where we share updates on farm development and horticultural activities.
Each week, I meet with local elders to share a bit of the farm experience with them. Our time together is spent on farm updates, Q&A sessions, sharing photographs of farm progress, and bringing in samples of soil, soil amendments, and fresh nutrient-rich veggies for them to experience.
We spend time during the winter seeding weeks potted herbs and starting cuttings in water. In summer, we use soil amendments to enrich the soil and sometimes transplant our herb cuttings, with teen volunteers who help tremendously. Farm tours in the fall!
